Joan Weeks is a reporter for CBC News.

Awards[edit]

In 2007, Weeks won an Atlantic Journalism Award alongside Gary Mansfield. Weeks and Mansfield won gold in the enterprising reporting - radio category for their series "Overdosing on Crime". This series focused on the connection between crime and drug addiction in Cape Breton.[1]

Personal life[edit]

Weeks lives in Nova Scotia with her husband Dr. Richard MacKinnon and three of her children. She has written a book, One God One Aim One Destiny: African Nova Scotians in Cape Breton, published by Cape Breton University.
