Joel Serrano Mercado (born May 17, 1999) is a Puerto Rican footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for FC Naples in USL League One. He also represents the Puerto Rico national football team.[2]
Club career
On June 9, 2021, Serrano and Puerto Rico national teammate Rodolfo Sulia were both signed by Chicago House AC.[3] He studied at Mercy University.[4]
Serrano signed with USL League One club FC Naples on January 3, 2025, ahead of the team's inaugural season.[5] He was substituted on in the 123rd minute of the Quarterfinals of the 2025 USL League One Playoffs. He would save 2 penalties in the penalty shoot-out, helping his team win 4–3.[6]
International career
On 1 June 2021, following the retirement of Cody Laurendi, Mercado was called up to the Puerto Rico national football team after impressing with good performances.[7]
