Johannes Senama (born 09 May 1947) Ga-Molepo(Podile)Limpopo. He is the retired senior pastor and a marriage counsellor of the Church of the Nazarene, based in Limpopo with locations around the world.
Life and career
Early life
Rev Senama was born in Limpopo, Ga-molepo, Mogole Village, on 09 May 1947. His parents were Senama Mologadi and Rosina, a single parent. His mother was not a pastor and she was attending Dutch Reformed church in Ga-Molepo, and that was the first church for the family to attend at Mogole village, Polokwane. Here Johannes and his two brothers and two sisters spent their childhood. He started school at Maphefo Primary School in 1953. He then furthered his studies at Tshebela High school where he completed his Standard 6 (Grade 8). After completing his Standard 6, he went to work for Mothapo Book shop at Ga-Mothapo in 1963. In 1967 he went to Nazarene Theological College and enrolled for a Diploma in Theology. He started working as a training pastor at Bushbuckridge Campus for the Nazarene. On his final year at the college he met his future wife, Cynthia Senama, in Mpumalanga during a college event. In 1972 he obtained his Diploma in theology from Nazarene Theological college. He is currently a retired pastor who still takes care of Molema church of the Nazarene and still does marriage counselling at the Church of the Nazarene. He moved from Limpopo to Gauteng in 1990 and looked for another job where he was working until he retired at Rand-Aid association as a security officer. He retired in 2008.
Personal Life
Rev Johannes Maishakgale Senama is married to Cynthia Babitsanne Senama (née Mashiloane). They met at the Nazarene Theological College in 1969. They got married in 1970 with a white wedding ceremony. They are blessed with five children (two boys, Fanie and Prince, and three girls, Mologadi, Rolinda and Jeanette). He was raised by a single parent, his mother Mologadi Senama, who passed away in October 2018, and he has a twin sister who also passed away in 2011 and has three other siblings. He is the second born in the family.
Career
Pastor Senama is a retired pastor at the church of the Nazarene in Ga-Molepo Village but still offers his service as a marriage counsellor. He is still a member of the board of the church. He went to Maphefo primary school and after obtaining Standard Five he moved to Tshebela High School where he obtained his Standard 6. He obtained his Diploma in theology at Nazarene Theological College in 1972. He was appointed to be a pastor at Church of the Nazarene in Mafefe Narane branch in 1980 together with his wife. They served Mafefe church until they moved to Mokopane (Tshama Hansi) branch and were appointed there from 1986 to 1990. He then left Limpopo to Gauteng and was appointed as the security Officer at Rand-Aid association at Lyndhurst in 1990.
Awards and Achievements
He obtained his long term service award at Rand-Aid Association in the year 2000. He became an official marriage counsellor in 1995 at Nazarene Theological College in Gauteng (Yeoville).
