John B. Lowery
John Boyd Lowery is an American investor, real estate developer, builder and philanthropist. He is the founder of Lowery Company, a national real estate development and construction company. He and his companies have developed and constructed commercial and residential properties valued in excess of $2 billion dollars.
Early life
John Boyd Lowery was born in Decatur, Alabama. He grew up in Collierville Tennessee. Lowery was educated at Collierville High School and The University of Memphis before launching his company at age of 21.
Career
He is responsible for strategic planning, strategic third party alliances, banking and financial relationships, and general corporate oversight.
Mr. Lowery has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate development and construction with a focus on the creation of communities with an emphasis on wellness. In his experience with real estate development and construction, Mr. Lowery has worked with financial institutions, owners, developers, governmental agencies, design consultants and construction contractors in all segments of the construction industry. His development and construction experience includes medical office buildings, hotels, hospitals, retail developments and over 10,000 single family homes in suburban and urban markets. Lowery sold his portfolio for $400 million dollars.
Among his projects includes the JW Marriott in Houston, Texas, the Lincoln Center Office Tower in Miami, Florida, the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Brickel Bay Office, Tower Miami FL, Holiday Inn Crown Plaza, Houston TX, North West Mississippi Hospital, Tupelo , MS, Plough Tower, Memphis TN, Morgan Keegan Tower, Memphis TN, Wellstone Craig Ranch TX , Wellstone Bluffton SC and 45 senior housing buildings
Recognition
Mr. Lowery served as President of Fidelity National Bank Holding Company and Chief of Staff to Harold E. Ford, Sr., member of United States House of Representatives.
Philanthropy
Lowery has supported a variety of charities over the last 45 years including the
Christian Methodist Episcopal Denomination, National Baptist USA Denomination, Progressive Baptist Denomination, African American Zion Denomination, National Baptist of America Denomination along with HBCUs,Liberty University, American Heart Association, American Lung Association?
