John Belani
John Belani (born December 1934) was awarded the Order of Australia medal on Australia Day 2015 for his service to Laverton, Victoria and the greater community and for other societal contributions.
Belani started his construction company, Belani Builders, in 1960 at the age of 24. He has been previously recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International for his role in co-founding a school, church, and for opening an orphanage in South Sudan, named after his wife, Anna Belani. [1]
