John Jac Sykes (born June 1971) is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who featured in the Sunday Times Rich List [1][2] after successful real estate investments in the Thames Valley town of Reading, UK.
Sykes is the sole owner and Chairman of Sykes Capital, which currently maintains a large international real estate portfolio. He sold his estate agency, Atlantis Sales & Lettings, to the Romans Group in 2015 for a sum of £5 million.[3]
In 2013, Sykes acquired his own private island in The Bahamas, Jwycesska Island.[citation needed]
In 2014, Sykes founded the John Sykes Foundation (Registered Charity Number 1156623), a charity centered on "helping to transform lives in Reading", the Group and Sykes' hometown. The charity supports the advancement of education, health, and culture, and offers relief for local people in need. The area of benefit is limited to a five mile radius of the town centre.[4] Sykes has committed to cover all administrative expenses of the charity so that 100% of donations and funding is delivered back to the community where he was born and raised.[5][6]
