Jon Kingsley Hall is a British composer, classically trained organist, music therapist, and record producer. Known for his genre-spanning work across electronic music, classical composition, and music therapy, Hall has collaborated with major artists, produced charting records, and pioneered therapeutic music programs within the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS). He is currently a director of KTPM Ltd PUB-CO.[citation needed]

Early life and education

Hall was born in Jersey and attended Hautlieu Grammar School from 1970 to 1977. He studied organ and percussion at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (1977–1981), followed by postgraduate performance studies at the Royal College of Music, London (1981–1982). In 2013, he earned a Master's degree in Music Therapy from the Nordoff-Robbins Institute.[1]

Career

Music performance and production

Hall launched his career in the 1980s as a founding member of the electronic band Kissing the Pink (KTP), releasing four albums and touring internationally. From 1981 to 2012, he worked as a producer, composer, and songwriter for artists signed to Warner Bros, MCA, Mercury/Polygram USA, Polydor Records, BMG, and Universal Publishing.[citation needed]

In 1997, Hall co-wrote and produced the drum and bass tracks "Get Down" and "Go" with vocalist Diane Charlemagne, known for her work on Inner City Life. The tracks were supported by DJ Goldie and received coverage in DJ Mag (31 January 1997, p. 55)[3] and Music Week (15 March 1997, p. 8).[4]

In 2000, Hall moved to Houston with KTP and collaborated with Sandy Stewart, known for her work with Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac.[citation needed] He also composed the theme tune and several original tracks for the Jim Doyle film Going Off Bigtime (2000), a Universal production published by MCA Music. He has produced commercial and library music for Wieden+Kennedy, De Wolfe, Rouge Music, and Bucks Music.[citation needed]

Music therapy

After completing his music therapy training, Hall founded Outsider Music CIC in 2015. The organisation delivers music therapy services in community and clinical settings. He has received funding from NHS Charities Together[5] and worked with institutions such as Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.[6]

Right in My Soul (2003) – Producer, Arranger, Engineer, Mixer, Instrumentalist On this album, Hall collaborated with George Stewart to produce a fusion of R&B, drum and bass, funk, and ambient music.
