Jon Najarian (born September 29, 1957) is an American television personality, options trader, and entrepreneur.[1]
Career[edit]
Najarian grew up in Minnesota, the son of transplant surgeon John Najarian, with brothers David, Paul, and Pete Najarian.[2] In 1981, Najarian played professional football for the Chicago Bears, where he played four preseason games as a linebacker alongside Mike Singletary.[3]
Najarian began his financial career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) when his agent offered him a chance to learn trading on the trading floor.[4] In 1990, he founded Mercury Trading, a market-making firm, which he sold to Citadel in 2004. During this time, Najarian invented the Heat Seeker algorithm, which he uses to identify unusual trends within the stock options markets.[5]
Following the sale of Mercury Trading, Najarian co-founded tradeMONSTER, an online brokerage firm, that was sold to E*Trade for $725 million in 2016.[6][7] Najarian co-founded his latest venture Market Rebellion, an options trade idea service, with his brother Pete Najarian in 2018.[8]

As a professional investor and market analyst, Najarian is a regular contributor on CNBC, where he appears on Fast Money and Fast Money Halftime Report.[9]
In 2009, Najarian was prominently the documentary film Floored (film), where he discusses the time he spent on the Chicago Trading Floors.[10]
