Early Life[edit]

Jonathan Randall Boone was born in Hertford County, North Carolina on April 21, 1993. His father is a Jamaican immigrant and his mother is Native American. In 1993, Jonathan's father was incarcerated [2], leaving his mother alone to take care of Jonathan and his other three brothers. Jonathan grew up in Bertie County, in a small town called Aulander, North Carolina.

Jonathan was 17-years-old when he found himself in trouble with the law. He was charged as an adult because he soon turned 18. The charges were later expunged.

Jonathan's older brother, J.Stradda, introduced him to music and he began to take it serious in 2012.

Career[edit]

In 2014, Jonathan was named president of a poetry club, Free Mindz, at his alma mater Elizabeth City State University. This is where he met fellow artist through open mics the club would throw and formed the future record label The C.O.O.L Collective.

In 2015, got his debut with a performance with BET "Blaze The Stage".

Later in 2015, Jonathan graduated from the HBCU (stated above), and pursued Grad School at Academy of Art University and studied screenwriting in San Francisco, California.

Continuously releasing music on Soundcloud and Reverbnation, Jonathan decided to release his first official single on major platforms in June 2016 entitled, Outlandish.

In July 2016, the single landed Jonathan on HBCU BUZZ as "11 HBCU Artists you should listen to"[3].

Coincidentally, his first single and being from Bertie County also landed him an opportunity with the short documentary Raising Bertie which is executive produced by J. Cole.[4]

On his birthday in 2017, Jonathan released his second single 9317, which featured his mother in the beginning of the track.

Later in 2017, Jonathan encountered Chop Master J after a failed attempt of doing a documentary about Digital Underground. Their relationship continued even further, after Chop Master J's son, S.O.T.U, featured Jonathan on his track Underground Bump, a sampled rack from E-40's Tell Me When To Go, off his album Cradle 2 the Stage.

Throughout 2018, Jonathan released 4 singles Zombies, L.O.A, Fo-Five, and Native. His work ethic landed him on tour with Trap x Art

After the tour in 2018, Jonathan started to explore the movie industry, under his full name Jonathan Randall Boone, and wrote the short-film, Fish out of Water, which is under Zhong TV. The film has won 4 awards and 4 nominations.[5]

In 2019, Jonathan released his latest single Clockin'.
