Jooble is a Ukrainian international job aggregator that works in 69 countries. Jooble collects job postings from thousands of different sites to make it easier for candidates to find new opportunities[1]. This is a large company[2] that operates in the online recruitment market since 2006. Today, Jooble is among the TOP-10 websites in the world in terms of traffic in the Jobs And Employment segment, according to SimilarWeb [3]. The mission of Jooble is - “We create a world where every person throughout their life has the opportunity to find a job that corresponds to their life aspirations and creates conditions for a sense of inherent value” [4]. The company's headquarters is located in Kyiv, Ukraine[5].

History[edit]

Jooble was founded in 2006 by two students from Ukraine (Roman Prokofiev and Yevhen Sobakarov)[6]. The idea to create Jooble came to friends in 2006. Roman already had his own small company then and spent a lot of time looking for employees. The Jooble site was born in the NTUU KPI dormitory, which differed from other employment sites in that the employer paid not for posting a job but for the number of clicks on it.

As of 2010, the service was available in 24 countries[4].

At the beginning of 2022, the service was available in 71 countries[6].

Jooble has publicly condemned Russian military aggression against Ukraine. The company ceased operations in the labour markets of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on 24 February 2022[7]. Today, people use Jooble to find jobs in 69 countries around the globe[8].

In 2021 Jooble announced the transition to remote-first work. The change to fully remote allowed the company to hire experts from different cities and even other countries on an equal footing[9]. At the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Jooble managed to continue working remotely and hire employees from all over the world, thanks to the earlier restructuring of all processes to a remote-first format[4].

In 2022, Jooble launched the Jooble Venture Lab. This new business unit works in two directions: startup studio and strategic partnerships[4]. Jooble Venture Lab, in partnership with world-class entrepreneurs, who become co-founders & startup CEOs, co-found international tech-driven startups in recruitment, employment, gig work and professional education. Jooble Venture Lab provides funding, support, expertise and various assets to help startups[10]

In 2022 Jooble launched the Jooble Job Search mobile app for iOS and Android. Users can search simultaneously in several specialities and regions, as well as search for job offers for remote employment[11]

How aggregator works[edit]

Jooble uses a web crawler technology, which visits over 140,000 resources daily: these are job sites, corporate sites of companies, sites of employment agencies, JPA (Java Persistence API), social networks, and classifieds. The collected vacancies are then placed on the Jooble website[12]. In 2020 Jooble bought Hotwork Job Search Service, a popular CEE/MENA job aggregator[13]
