Joost Reintjes (full name: Theodorus Antonius Joost Reintjes) born 17 June 1961, Ubbergen) is a Dutch diplomat and ambassador of the Netherlands to Serbia from 2021 to the present.[1]


Reintjes began his career in 1989, working in Cairo and Caracas and in the Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague. From 1998 to 2002 he was department head of the Middle East, Migration and Consular Affairs. After that he became the consul of Amman from 2002 to 2003. From 2002 to 2005 he was the Dutch ambassador to Iraq in Baghdad. After that he became a deputy ambassador in Rome from 2005 to 2009. He then became the Dutch ambassador to Pakistan, in Islamabad from 2009 to 2011 and then the ambassador to Kenya, in Nairobi from 2011 to 2015. After 2015 he returned to The Hague for one year as the director of DWH at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After 2016, Reintjes became the Dutch ambassador to Saudi Arabia in Riyadh until 2020. Afterwards he became the Dutch acting ambassador to Russia, in Moscow. Since 2021 Reintjes has served as the Dutch ambassador to Serbia, in Belgrade.[2]
