Vincent Piket is a Dutch diplomat who is currently the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. He took up his functions on 19 September 2019 and presented his letters of credence to Indonesian President Joko Widodo on 20 November 2019.[1] He was previously EU Ambassador to Malaysia and EU Head of Office to Hong Kong and Macao.[2] His latest job in the EU Headquarters in Brussels was Head of Division for the Maghreb countries in the Middle East and North Africa Department.[3]
Education
Piket has a Doctorate in Arts from Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, a Master of Arts from Radboud University, Nijmegen, NL; a degree from University of Hull, United Kingdom, and is a Fellow of American Studies Department, Yale University, New Haven, USA, an Alumnus of the Fulbright Program, and a Fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies.
Personal life
He is married to Ines Morovic and they have one son. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, and German.[4]
