Jorge Edecio Torreblanca Droguett (1916–1994) was a Chilean physician, surgeon, and politician.[1]
He served as Minister of Public Health and Social Welfare from July 1957 to September 1958, and for a second time from October to November 1958, during the second government of President Carlos Ibáñez del Campo. He also concurrently served as Minister of Mining during the same administration.[2]
Family
He was born in 1916, the son of Corina Droguett Droguett and Edecio Torreblanca, a teacher, public official, and politician who was initially a member of the Radical Party and later the Liberal Party, and who served as an undersecretary and minister of state during the first government of Ibáñez.[1]
He married twice. His first wife was Blanca Grove Valenzuela, with whom he had two daughters, Mónica de la Luz and Sonia de la Paz. He later married Leonor Saavedra Lehman, with whom he had no children.[1]
