José Antonio de Magalhães Lins (born 17 May 1966) is a Brazilian economist and a business man.[1] Originating from a traditional family of bankers and diplomats, he is one of the five children of Maria do Carmo de Mello Franco Nabuco (Afrânio de Mello Franco and Joaquim Nabuco granddaughter) and the former banker and insurer pt:José Luiz de Magalhães Lins (partner of the former Banco Nacional de Minas Gerais, Atlântica Boavista Seguros and Bradesco). His father is also known as the one of the main sponsors of cultural life in Brazil in the 1960s being the biggest donator of the Cinema Novo movement.[2]
In 2014 José Antonio joined Rubens Botteri and created Petrotech Oil & Gas, a holding company based in Nevada, US, that controls 100% of the capital of Great Oil Perfurações[3] and Great Solutions.
Married, he has three children and is the consulting board chairman of Brazil-Uruguay Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Tourism (CCBRUY)[4][5] and the director of Brazil-Ecuardor Chamber of Commerce. He was also a board member of Teleperformance and O Dia,[6] Rio de Janeiro newspaper.
