Joseph Adams Jr. (December 24, 1654 – February 12, 1737) was a British colonial farmer.[1] He was the grandfather of the second U.S. President, John Adams, and the great-grandfather of the sixth President, John Quincy Adams.
Early life and marriage[edit]
Adams was born on December 24, 1654, the son of Joseph Adams Sr. and Abigail Baxter.[2] In 1685, he married Hannah Bass, daughter of John Bass and Ruth Alden, with whom he had a son, John Adams Sr.
