Joseph Kropschot (born June 19, 1995) is an American professional mixed martial artist who most recently competed in the Middleweight division. An amateur competitor since 2016 and going pro in 2018, Kropschot has formerly competed for the Conquer Fighting Championships, 559 Fights, CF Promotions, Bay Area Combat, and Dragon House.
According to Sherdog.com, he has won one professional bout.[1]
Biography[edit]
Joseph was born in San Ramon, California. In 2013, during high school, Joseph took up Gracie Jiu Jitsu training at Team Santos Jiu Jitsu starting at the age of 16. Joseph started entering grappling competitions almost immediately with success.
Mixed martial arts career[edit]
In 2016 Joseph started competing in amateur MMA competitions, compiling a record of 5-0 and ending up the number one ranked amateur in the state of California in his weight class. He also won two middleweight belts during his amateur career, the Conquer FC and Bay Area Combat Middleweight belts.[2] He defeated Diego Lopez in Conquer FC 4 to win that middleweight belt[3] and defeated Noah Christy to win the Bay Area Combat belt.[4][5] In 2018 Joseph went pro, winning his first fight and compiling a professional fight record of 1-0. Kropschot's next fight will be at the Eddie Bravo Invitational 17 on September 29, 2018, vs Mike Flach, and will be broadcast live on Pay Per View and UFC Fight Pass.[6]
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu[edit]
Kropschot is currently a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt under Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt Jon Santos, with whom he has been training since 2013.
Muay Thai[edit]
Joseph also trains in Muay Thai kickboxing, starting his training with Team Black and then continuing at El Nino Training Center in San Francisco, California.
