Joshua Beal
The shooting of Joshua Beal, a 25-year-old African American man, occurred on November 5, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois. Beal was shot by off-duty Chicago police officers after a scuffle concerning a possible parking violation. Beal was involved in a prior incident involving a gun and a road rage incident in Indiana.
Personal life
Joshua was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Indianapolis. Two months before his death, he proposed to his longtime girlfriend and the mother of two sons. Joshua Beal earned his associate's degree in business administration in December 2015 from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana and planned to enroll in Franklin University.
