Joshua Dodd (presenter)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Joshua Dodd (born April 19, 2000) is a Radio Personality and Student from Winchester, England. Dodd works on small stations in Hampshire and lives with Cerebral Palsy.

Career[edit]

Dodd began working in Radio in 2016, presenting as part of Unity 101's 'Student Takeover Hour', in association with Barton Peveril Sixth Form College. Dodd won a Best Young Presenter award at Unity 101's Awards Ceremony in February 2018, being named as "professional".[1]

While working on Unity 101's student show, Dodd began working at Voice FM in Southampton, presenting the Saturday Breakfast Show, along with friend Luke Hiscock. They stayed at the post for just over a year, pulling in record numbers. Both Dodd and Hiscock left the post in October 2018 after a few weeks of absence. [2]

It was only a matter of weeks before Dodd took his talents elsewhere, starting a Wednesday Hometime shift along with Hiscock on the University of Winchester's Student Radio Station, Sound Radio - presenting a number of themed shows, before rounding off the semester with a Christmas Special. [3]

In February 2019, Dodd and Hiscock raised money for the Journey of a Lifetime Trust, participating in a Presenting Marathon, staying on air live for 24 Hours Straight. They raised over £400. [4] Later that month, Dodd announced the creation of The Wheelies - an awards show that would particularly showcase young and local talent. For this, Dodd continued his partnership with Hiscock. [5]This show took place on April 3rd, with Dodd winning the Best Wednesday Hometime Presenter award. [6]

Dodd took his first solo role at Winchester Radio (formerly the radio station for Royal Hampshire County Hospital) upon launch on March 24th 2019. [7]

Personal Life[edit]

Dodd lives with Cerebral palsy and works closely with the Journey of a Lifetime Trust, who took him to Indonesia and Australia's Northern Territory in Summer 2016.
