Josie Man is a British singer/songwriter born in Orpington, United Kingdom. Her father is from Hong Kong and her mother is from South London.[1] She grew up around both her English and Cantonese-speaking families. Man's songwriting was influenced by her parents’ taste in music, including The BeeGees, Marvin Gaye, and Fleetwood Mac.[2]

Man started writing short songs on her guitar when she was 14.[3] Eventually, her music started receiving notice from the industry.[4] She was signed by Columbia Records in October 2019.[5]

Calling her sound "identity pop,"[6] she released her debut EP, aLOVINGboothang, on February 14, 2020, which included the singles, "Colours," which has almost two million plays on Spotify, and "Baby Pink and Blue."[7] "Colours" premiered in Wonderland Magazine on November 6, 2019.[8]

Her next single, "Just Me," was named BBC Introducing's "Track of the Week." That song was also released as a remix by producer Jarreau Vandal.[9] She performed live dates with Filipino-born British singer-songwriter Beabadoobee in the beginning of 2020. On April 23, Man collaborated with social network platform, Vero, to release a live video performance of "Baby Pink & Blue."[10] Following that, she released her next single, "Grow."
