Joyceline Natally Cudjoe is an international journalist[1], novelist, poet, blogger, publicist, and celebrity promoter who has over the years supported and promoted various industrial players in Ghana to the outside world.

She had a diploma education at a renowned private tertiary institution based in Accra, Jayee University College (JUC), and completed in 2015, majoring in journalism. She was awarded a Distinction in journalism bearing Winneba University's Certificate. Reason being that JUC is affiliated with the University of Education, Winneba.

During her education, her interest in writing sparked which led her to own her blogging site, News journal/feature today to hone her skills while studying. Due to her hard work, determination, and interest in helping Ghana's Creative Art Industry excel, she furthered her education at Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), a leading Communication University in the country to enhance her communications skills.

She was awarded a First Class in Bachelor of Art in Communication Studies with a specialty in Public Relations (PR) after completion in 2018.

Early Life[edit]

Joyceline Natally Cudjoe hails from Essikadu, a suburb of Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region. She had her basic education at Roman Catholic Girls School, located in Essikadu, and had her Secondary Education at Fijai Secondary School where she studied General Art.

Career[edit]

In 2016 she had her National Service at Information Services Department (ISD) in Sekondi as a journalist which she filed the regional report on policies, development, and needs of the people to aid the government in decision making.

Journalism[edit]

She earned a contract with the government due to her accurate and timely reportage and began working with the New Times Corporation, publishers of Ghanaian Times, and the Weekly Spectator in 2019.

At the New Times Corporation, she worked under the editorial section as a journalist or reporter for the Ghanaian Times Newspaper. She reported from education, politics, religion and majored in Entertainment.

As a celebrity reporter, she wrote stories on key industrial players including Kojo Antwi, Reggie Rockstone, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Kwesi Arthur, Kofi Mole, Efya, Guru, AK Songstress, eShun, Fameye, Bless, Pappy Kojo among other musicians which were all published in the Ghanaian Times Newspaper.

Her work as a journalist has contributed to the success of the creative art industry as she exhibited professionalism in her reportage.

She also ensured that children in deprived communities in Ghana compete effectively with those in urban areas.

This determination saw her visiting deprived, rural and remote areas of Ghana to report on schools that lack facilities and amenities to shift government, institutions, and individuals' attention to those sectors to help the schools get better facilities to aid in quality teaching and learning.

Her works gained recognition and in the year 2020, she became the country's correspondent for The Ghanaian News, a Canada-based newspaper to report exclusively on Ghana's Creative Art industry to help the key actors promote their works to the foreigners.

The move is to ensure that Ghana's art gains international recognition and also help them market their work while broadening the horizon of the players.

Author[edit]

In 2017, she authored her first fictional tale dubbed; "Reaching For You" while in school.

"About Reaching For You"

It is an anti-romance story written by the author to stir emotions in readers for them to draw their own conclusion about how humans act upon their fate in fulfilling their destiny. This story blends the idea of Love, hatred, faithfulness, dishonesty, trust, disbelief, obedience, mischief, patience, frustration, joy, misery, curse, blessing, the accomplishment of destiny, and most of all act of vengeance. It also makes use of literary quibble in emphasizing a point.

This book is carefully written to educate readers on how best fate can challenge humans' desires of life, in other words, the battle between "Faith and Fate".

The launch of her debut novel saw some dignitaries including the former Minister of Railways Development and the Member of Parliament for Essikadu-Ketan constituency, honorable Joe Ghartey, the Takoradi regional Minister, and the Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Honourable Kwabena Okyere Darko.

Award-winning writer Agnes Gyenin-Asiedu also graced the occasion to support the young talented writer.

She also released her second authored book "The Ugly Bogyalina and the Pretty Angel" in 2019.

She designed the story for basic students and people who love reading.

The Ugly Bogyalina and Pretty Angel is a fairy tale that she made use of magic and charm to express her ideas about the act of a witch who did not impart good morals into the life of her daughter. This made the girl grew ugly and uglier, she was unkind and mean even to animals.

The story is folklore written to teach a moral lesson on how a good behavior or character could develop one to become pretty and beautiful.

Blogging[edit]

She began blogging professionally[2] in the year 2020 when the novel coronavirus disease compelled the world to impose restrictions on movement.

During the time, players in the creative art industry were hugely affected and many had to cancel their shows, projects and other events. This led the industry to become dull and she decided to explore other means to promote the art and craft of the country, hence her decision to adopt digital means to promote the stakeholders through blogging.

Joyceline Natally Cudjoe is the Editor in Chief of SpotOnNews Ghana.
