Juan Coll-Barreu
Juan Coll-Barreu is a Spanish architect, author and professor. His architectural work has been valued for its speculative and conceptual potential, contrasting with the usual formal austerity of the recent Spanish architecture.
Some of his most influential projects are the [1]Basque Health Department Headquarters[1] in Bilbao , E8 Building[2] in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Olympic Ice Arena[3] in the Pyrenees, main venue for the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in 2007, Textured Tower,[4] Firemen[5] and Policemen Houses[6] in Bilbao or, in Madrid, the International Service Center for Galileo Satellite Navigation.
Currently he is a professor at Technical School of Architecture of Madrid. He has taught also at North Carolina State University among other international universities.
