Juan Pablo Peña-Rosas (born 20 November 1964) is a Venezuelan medical doctor and epidemiologist. He has worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2008, where he has served in senior positions.

Peña-Rosas graduated as a medic Central University of Venezuela, in Caracas, and would later received a master in public health nutrition from the University of Puerto Rico, in San Juan,[1] as well as a PhD human nutrition and epidemiology from Cornell University, New York City.[1][2]
Career[edit]
Peña-Rosas has worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the nutrition, physical activity and obesity division, in Atlanta, United States, as well as adjunct assistant professor at Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University, in the same city, since 2011. He has also been involved in nutrition surveys, and programme monitoring and evaluation for nutrition interventions several countries. Peña-Rosas started working at the World Health Organization (WHO) in July 2008,[1] working as coordinator of evidence and programme guidance of the organization's Department of Nutrition for Health and Development.[1][3][4] He has been a member of American Society for Nutrition, Latin American Society of Nutrition, the American Evaluation Association, the Cochrane Collaboration and the WHO Guidelines Review Committee 2010-2012.[1]
