Jubilee Capital Management (JCM) is a Singapore-based venture capital firm with operations in Beijing and the US, and partners in China, Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.[1][2]

History & background[edit]

JCM was founded in 2015 by Stanley Zhang, George Gong and Gan Fong Jek to invest in companies expanding into China as well as Chinese companies looking to expand overseas and grow internationally outside their home market.[2][3]

Before founding JCM, Stanley Zhang was founder and chief executive officer of HiChina, which was acquired by Alibaba Group in 2013.[3][4] George Gong co-founded BeyondSoft, an enterprise software service provider listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, while Gan Fong Jek is a senior corporate venture capital and M&A professional formerly from Temasek-owned corporations and a media company in Indonesia.[5] The founders are EMBA alumni of Tsinghua University.[4]

In 2016, the company obtained its registered fund management license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore,[6] and launched a US$100 million Jubilee Tech Fund. The fund invests in post-seed to Series A-stage startups in the technology, media and telecommunications space in Southeast Asia, China, Israel and the US, with each investment ranging between US$500,000 and US$2.5 million.[1][7]

Investments[edit]

JCM’s portfolio companies include Start (previously PPzuche), a China-based car-sharing platform founded in 2012[8] and Latitude Technologies (Latipay), an Auckland-based online payments company that enables Chinese consumers to pay for merchandise or services with yuan and merchants to receive payment to their local bank account in their local currency.[6]
