Judith Hunt (consultant)
Judith Anne Hunt OBE, (born 13 September 1945), is a British consultant and public servant.
Hunt was educated at Cheadle Hulme School and Leeds University. She began her career lecturing at Stockport College and Salford College Technology. From 1967 to 1974 she was a teacher in Salford. From 1974 she was National Organiser for the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers, becoming Assistant General Secretary from 1980 to 1982.
She joined the Greater London Council in 1982, serving as Equal Opportunities Adviser and Deputy Head of Personnel Services until 1984. She was Director of Personnel till 1986, before switching to the Inner London Education Authority, where she was Acting Director of Personnel until 1987. She became Chief Executive of the London Borough of Ealing, remaining in the post until 1993. Between 1993 and 1999 she was Chief Executive of the Local Government Management Board.
Since 1999 she has been an independent consultant and executive coach. She was recently awarded a Diploma in Group Work at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. Hunt chaired the Camden and Islington Health Authority from 2000 to 2002.From 2002 to 2006 Hunt was a non-executive director of the Crown Prosecution Service. She was also Chair of the London Health observatory. She has been a Board member of Transport for London (TfL) and Chair of the TfL Audit Committee Since 2006.
She has been a fellow of the RSA since 1994. From 1994 to 2004 she was a trustee of the Common Purpose leadership organisation. She was a member of the Commission on the Future of Multi-Ethnic Britain, established by the Runnymede Trust in 1997.[1]
