Julian Ronnefeldt
Julian Ronnefeldt, born in Essen, Germany, is an artist, photographer, and veejay. After working as an assistant for photographer Iver Hansen, in 1990 he became involved in making visuals for concerts in and around Düsseldorf. He moved to London in 1993, where he made visuals for underground parties and clubs, using slide, film and video projections. In 1997 he joined an international art collective known as 'Luna Nera', with whom he created a number of site-specific installations in derelict buildings throughout Europe, including the Midland Grand Hotel, St. Pancras (as part of the "Derelict Sensation" show), the Russian naval base in Kronstadt, the Factory-Berlin in Berlin, the Dada Festival, Zurich and the Whitechapel Art gallery. As a veejay he worked with a number of bands at various well-known London venues, including the Mean Fiddler, the Union Chapel and Tate Britain, frequently collaborating with avant-garde musician Joel Cahen. His photography and video has been exhibited in Belfast, London, Rome, St. Petersburg, Budapest and throughout Germany.
