Early life and education
Gomez was born in Ormoc, Leyte. She is the daughter of actor, politician and former national athlete Richard Gomez and politician Lucy Torres-Gomez.[2]
She studied at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she earned a degree in Public Administration and graduated cum laude.[3]
Fencing career
Gomez initially competed in other sports before focusing on fencing. She represented the University of the Philippines in the UAAP and won the women's individual épée title in Season 85 (2023) and successfully defended it in Season 86 (2024).[2][4]
In 2022 she won gold medals at the Thailand Open Fencing Championship and the West Java Fencing Challenge in Indonesia.[5]
She made her Southeast Asian Games debut at the 2025 edition in Thailand. In the women's individual épée she was eliminated in the early rounds. She later helped the Philippine team (with Alexa Larrazabal, Hanniel Abella and Ivy Claire Dinoy) win the bronze medal in the team épée event after defeating Indonesia and losing to Singapore in the semi-finals.[1]
