Justin Matthew (born 1978) is an American digital marketer who helped create and grow the YouTube Channel HouseholdHacker in 2007 while living in Orlando, Florida and attending the University of Central Florida. It became one of the first viral DIY channels on the internet and was featured in ABC News and other publications. The video most known from 2007 is a hoax video claiming that a person could charge an iPod battery using an onion and Gatorade. The video drew the attention of the MythBusters. In a segment dubbed "iOnion", Grant Imahara was unable to get any charge from the onion setup found in the HouseholdHacker video.[1].

HouseholdHacker managed to draw an undisclosed significant revenue, as mentioned in this interview with Matthew and Dylan Hart.[2]

In September 2011, Fruzsina Eördögh of The Daily Dot wrote a piece called Scientific Tuesdays pops, explodes and even disappears about the weekly “Scientific Tuesdays” show, speaking with Matthew about its popularity with viewers.[3]

Matthew was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, USA. He was leaving the brokerage industry in 2007 when he became interested in digital and social media marketing.

Matthew went on to have two children and played on the Orlando tennis circuit for a few years before refocusing on digital marketing. He went on to become one of the top digital marketers today, according to The Digital Marketing Magazine.[4]

Currently, Matthew owns the internet start-up IBoom Media LLC, as seen on Bloomberg, a social media marketing firm offering services worldwide. It has already received many accolades from companies such as Kred Influence Measurement, Klout, & Empire Avenue.[5]
