Jyoti Deshpande is an Indian businesswoman and film producer. She is CEO of Viacom 18 and has worked in the media and entertainment industry for almost three decades. She was formerly the Group CEO and Managing Director of Eros International.[1][2] [3] Jyoti also serves as the Co-Chair of, the Media & Entertainment Committee, FICCI.[4] [5] She has been featured in Fortune India as well as Business Today’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business lists.[6]
Early Life and Education[edit]
Jyoti Deshpande, born in 1972 in Mumbai, India, She earned a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degree from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. Jyoti gave tuitions during college to finance her education ahead, and went onto do MBA in 1993, from Mumbai University's SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.[7] [8] [9] [10] [11]
Career[edit]
After finishing MBA, Jyoti Deshpande acquired a position with Mindshare Media, a UK-based firm. She was a senior consultant at that time. She then served as the Sales & Marketing Head for the Zee Network. She went to work for James Walter Thompson, an advertising firm, after working for Zee. She was a senior management team member that formed the B4U Television Network between 1999 and 2001.[12] In 2018, she joined Reliance Industries as president of Media Platform & Content and reported directly to Mukesh Ambani.[13][14]
She is now the CEO of Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd. She was formerly the Group CEO and Managing Director of Eros International.[15][16][17]
