K.M. Basheer was an Indian journalist who was killed in a road accident on 3 August 2019[2] by IAS officer, Sriram Venkitaraman.[3][4][5][6][7] Basheer was the Bureau chief of the Siraj Daily at Thiruvananthapuram.[8][9][10][11]
Career
Basheer began his journalism career by joining the Siraj Daily as the newspaper's Tirur local reporter in 2003. He became a staff reporter in Malappuram for the paper in 2003. Eventually he joined the Thiruvananthapuram bureau as a staff reporter and was later promoted as its bureau chief.[12]
Personal life
Basheer had a wife, Jaseela, and two children.[13]
