Dato' K.M. Rifatuzzaman (Bengali: ডাতো' কে.এম. রিফাতুজ্জামান) is a Bangladeshi industrialist and the Managing Director of Akhtar Group[1][2]. It is one of the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh which operates in multiple sectors with major operation in the furnishing industry. He is also the Managing Director and CEO of the Bangladesh Premier League cricket team Chattogram Challengers[3][4].

Early Life

K.M. Rifatuzzaman was born on December 30 into a Muslim family in Bangladesh. He is the son of businessman and philanthropist K.M. Akhtaruzzaman who is the Chairman of Akhtar Furnishers Ltd.

Education

K.M. Rifatuzzaman studied BSBM (Bachelor of Science in Business Management, University of Phoenix BC, Canada).

Career

From a very early age, K.M. Rifatuzzaman became a part of the family business and was keen to assisting his father K.M. Akhtaruzzaman run their business conglomerate. In 2010, he became the Managing Director Akhtar Group at the age of 24. Since then, he has been leading the group and took Akhtar Group to a new horizon, branching out to diversified ventures in business including furniture[5], foam, construction, chemical, satellite channel, mattress[6], food & beverage, cricket team and many more.

Award

He was conferred the prestigious Malaysian title of Datuk on April 2005.
