K2-183b (previously designated EPIC 211562654.03) is an extremely hot Neptune-sized exoplanet orbiting the Sun-like star K2-183. Discovered by the Kepler space telescope during its K2 “Second Light” mission, K2-183b has one of the shortest orbital periods known, with one orbit taking a little over 11 hours to complete.[3] While its radius is very uncertain, it appears to be around 3 times the radius of Earth. It has a temperature hot enough to melt iron.[4]
