KIET Group of Institutions (KIET) is a private engineering institute affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, situated in Ghaziabad in the National Capital Region of India, 30 km from Delhi.[1] The institute is ISO certified and NBA accredited.[2] It consists of 10 academic departments with a focus on education in engineering, sciences, pharmacy and management.
Location
The institute is located 30 km from the Delhi–Uttar Pradesh border, on National Highway 58 (India), 13 km from Ghaziabad towards Meerut.[3] The nearest habitation is the city of Muradnagar, which is located merely 1 km from the college. The main markets near the college are Railway Road and Muradnagar market.
History
The institute was started in 1998 under the aegis of the Krishna Charitable Trust. The college was then affiliated to the Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra. Later it came under UPTU (UP Technical University) after the latter was formed. UPTU was renamed GBTU (Gautam Buddh Technical University). Later, GBTU was split into two separate universities, one retaining the original name Gautam Buddh Technical University, and the other named Mahamaya Technical University. The institute is affiliated to Mahamaya Technical University.[4][5] but finally GBTU and MTU combined. This merger of universities was renamed as UPTU, but later changed to APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). Now the institute is affiliated to AKTU, under the Uttar Pradesh Governance.
