    KOMPAS-3D is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) that runs on Microsoft Windows. The software uses C3D geometric modeling kernel that internally developed by ASCON Group. It is used by more than 7000 (official website mentions 9000)[1] industrial and engineering organizations in Russia and abroad, and has a reputation for solid reliability, and excellent interoperability.[1]

    KOMPAS-3D is used across a wide range of industries, including machinery, automotive, electronics, shipbuilding, atomic energy, aerospace, defense, plant design, civil engineering, and architecture.

    The software initially used Photorealistica - Rendering Application from Estetika company[2][not in citation given] until 2011[3] when the company decided to switch to Lightworks Artisan.[4]

    There is a lots of add-ons to the software such as BOM Wizard, Steel Structures 3D, and more[1][5]

    KOMPAS-3D is available for English, German, Ukrainian and Russian.

    KOMPAS:24 is the official KOMPAS-3D mobile app for Android. [2]
