KOZ Entertainment (Korean: KOZ 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean record label.[1] It was founded on November 26, 2018, by the rapper and producer Zico.[2] On November 18, 2020, Big Hit Entertainment (later renamed HYBE Corporation) announced its acquisition of the company.[3] KOZ has operated as a HYBE subsidiary since that time.[4][5]
History
Zico founded KOZ Entertainment in November 2018 when he departed from his previous agency.[6][7] Reports at that time in January 2019 confirmed the label's inception under which Zico defined himself as the "King of the Zungle", with activities largely confined to his own projects at the time.[8][9]
Big Hit Entertainment announced the acquisition on November 18, 2020.[10] Around the same period, there was news describing the roster to include only Zico and dvwn:singer-songwriter.[11][12] This was characterized as a part of Big Hit Music's increase in the multiple labels management.[13]
Following the acquisition Zico continued as an artist and producer under the label.[14][15]
