KVV Subrahmanyam
Kunnuvarankottai VV Subrahmanyam or popularly called as KVV Subrahmanyam (died July 2013) was a former officer of the Indian Police Service. He last served as Prinicpal Home Secretary in the rank of Director General of Police of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh state.(See also Telangana state).

Early life[edit]
KVV Subrahmanyam was born in a village near Madurai in Tamil Nadu state. He did his graduation, passed IPS and got posted to AP Cadre. His first assignment was as ASP in Tenali, Guntur district.[3]
Career[edit]
KVV Subrahmanyam belonged to the 1954 batch of the Indian Police Service in the AP cadre. He was the Deputy commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Hyderabad during the separate Telangana agitation of 1969. He was also the Superintendent of Police of Vishakhapatnam during the agitation about setting up of Vizag steel plant. It is said that he brought situation under control within 48 hours during Jai Andhra agitation in 1972 as Krishna SP. He held several other posts like Transport Commissioner and vice-chairman of AP Housing board and retired in 1988. He was also a writer in English and published many articles and poems. It is generally accepted that he was seen as a man with a rare combination of discipline, honesty and scholarship, KVV was exemplary in the discharge of duties.[4] .[5][6]

He has written 2 books of poems, namely, 'Ray of Hope and Other Poems' and 'Sunny Reveries'. He has published a book of selected newspaper articles called as 'Semitone Select'.
It is noted that a poem Shakthi Divine received appreciation from the general public from the book Ray of Hope and Other Poems.[7]
He participated in the World congress of Poets in Bangkok in 1988. His name had been included in the Cambridge Bibliography of English Poets. He was a member of the Hyderabad Poetry Society. His articles on many topics including Indian Bureaucracy have appeared in leading Indian daily newspapers like Indian Express, The Hindu, Deccan Chronicle, Andhra Bhoomi, Triveni, and the New Swatantra times'.[8]
