From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Kabateck LLP, formerly Kabateck Brown Kellner, is an American law firm based in Los Angeles.

History[edit]

The firm was founded in 2002 by Brian Kabateck, who is the managing partner.[1][2]

In 2008, in concert with Engstrom, Lipscomb & Lack, the firm filed class-action lawsuits, McElroy v. Network Solutions LLC, et. al and James Lee Finseth v. Network Solutions LLC, against Network Solutions LLC for domain name front running, which was settled in favor of the plaintiffs, in 2009.[3]

In April 2011, the firm sued Google for ad fraud.[4] Also in 2011, Kabateck and Mark Geragos sued their co-counsel, Yeghiayan & Associates partners Vartkes Yeghiayan and Rita Mahdessian, for misappropriation of funds, in on-going class-action lawsuits seeking Armenian Genocide reparations;[5] in turn, Yeghiayan counter-sued Kabateck and Geragos, filing similar charges. The matter was later submitted for arbitration.[6]

Kabateck served a one-year term as president of the Los Angeles County Bar Association;[7] and is the brother of attorney John Kabateck, a former California director of the National Federation of Independent Business.[8]

Office[edit]

The firm's office is located in a former Los Angeles Fire Department fire station on Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles, Engine Company No. 28, alongside Geragos & Geragos. The 1912 building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Los Angeles and is jointly owned by Kabateck and his investment partner, attorney Mark Geragos, since 2007, among other joint acquisitions; the partners have litigated together and also, in recent years, against one another over their mutual investments.[9]
