Kabir Mehta (born 1990) is an internationally award-winning film director and screenwriter from India, known for directing BUDDHA.mov, Sadhu In Bombay and Class (Season 1) on Netflix (2023).
In 2023, Kabir Mehta directed eight episodes of the Netflix Original Series, Class.[1][2]
His first feature documentary BUDDHA.mov (2017), a critically acclaimed film, premiered at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, with an Indian premiere at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, followed by a successful run on the international festival circuit.[3][4] The film was released globally on Mubi (streaming service).[5][6]
Short films have won a number of international awards and have screened at prestigious film festivals like Slamdance Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Mammoth Lakes Film, Festival, Chicago Underground, Winterthur, Kassel Dokfest, New Orleans, EMAF & Dharamshala.[7][8][9]
