Kaitlyn Rene Clark (born June 5, 1993) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide gymnastics from 2012 to 2015.[1]
Early life[edit]
Kaitlyn was born on June 5, 1993 to parents, Monique and Dan Clark. She has three siblings, Breanna, Mathew and Kyle. She graduated from Ontario Christian High School in 2011.
She started attending University of Alabama in the fall of 2011 and will graduate in 2015.[2]
Club career[edit]
Clark trained at Precision Gymnastics in Rancho Cucamonga, California for a significant portion of her club competitive career. She qualified to Junior International Elite status in 2006 and qualified to three U.S. Classic's as a Junior (2006-08).
She moved up to Senior International Elite in 2009, age 16. She qualified to the 2009 U.S. National Championships and was named to the 2009-10 U.S. Senior National team. She participated in the U.S. National Team selection camp for the 2009 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships but wasn't named to the team.
Her final year as an elite was in 2010, qualifying to the 2010 U.S. Classic again. She dropped down to Level 10 for her senior year in 2011 and was third at 2011 J.O. Nationals.
College career[edit]
As a freshman, in 2012, Clark was a main-stay for the Crimson Tide team on bars, competing at all fourteen meets during regular season. She was a main-stay on vault and bars in 2013, as a sophomore, and earned first-team All American honors on vault.
In 2014, during her junior season, she was 2014 SEC Bars Champion and contributed consistently throughout the season. She scored a perfect 10.0 on beam against Auburn during regular season. As a senior in 2015, Kaitlyn has been consistent throughout the season.
