Kiana Winston (born June 12, 1996) is an American artistic gymnast. [1] She competed as an elite gymnast from 2009 through 2013 and has since retired. She currently competes in collegiate gymnastics for the Alabama Gymnastics.
Career[edit]
Kiana emerged onto the Elite scene in 2009.[2] She competed at the U.S. Classic and U.S. Championships that year and won the Beam competition in the Junior division of the U.S. Classic. In 2010, Kiana competed at Metroplex Challenge and Buckeye Classic which were elite qualifiers and earned her way to U.S. Championships. Shortly before U.S. Classic, Kiana suffered a torn ACL which kept her out the rest of the season. She came back in 2011 and placed 8th at the VISA Championships[3] which was enough to obtain her National Team position. [4][5] In 2012 & 2013 Kiana sat out the season and retired from elite gymnastics. Starting in the fall term of 2014, she enrolled in the University of Alabama, where she joined the Alabama Gymnastics team.[6]
Personal life[edit]
Winston lives in Fort Worth, Texas with parents Kevin and Yolanda and her brother Jalen Winston. Kiana attended North Crowley High School in her senior year until graduation in 2014, she currently attends University of Alabama and competes for Alabama Gymnastics. [7]
