Kalaage is a networking platform for writers and publications to interact and connect. Writers can share their writing, such as stories, articles, views, opinions, etc., on Kalaage and can also directly send it to various magazines/newspapers present on the platform for printing/publishing.
Introduction
Kalaage claims that it "bridges the gap between writers and publications by giving writers a platform to get directly published and publications (print and digital) access to a lot of writers and subscribers. Writers can follow/subscribe to any publication and submit their works to them if and when they open for submissions. Publications sign up on a monthly subscription basis and get content by opening up submissions, which they call "Toss a Topic".
History
Kalaage was co-founded by three individuals—Raghav Sharma, Ravi Piplani, and Himanshu Agarwal. Raghav got the idea for starting Kalaage after his history publication—The Wounded Tiger—closed down, and he met Ravi at Infosys to discuss the idea. The first version of Kalaage was launched in October 2014, and as of now, they claim to have 4000 writers and 20 international publications on the platform. The platform was initially launched as a portal for artists to share their works online, but it was soon opened for writers and publications to join and exchange content and value.[1]
Partnerships
Kalaage is currently progressing under 'Aarambh Accelerators', a project of Oxigen Services. Kalaage has partnered with publications such as Efiction India,[2] CampusDrift,[3] Changing Tomorrow,[4] Praxis,[5] Every Voice, The Ibis Head Review, etc.
