Kaleen Plaza is a small plaza built to serve the suburb of Kaleen, in Canberra, Australia. Initially opened in 1990, the shopping centre features a Coles, a bank branch, and many specialty stores. The plaza runs along Maribyrnong Avenue.
The site was initially identified in 1978 as a location to develop a new shopping hub designed to service the Kaleen and greater Belconnen area, and by 1985 an auction was held for the right to develop and operate the proposed site.[1] By 1985, the centre was under construction,[2] and it was opened to the public in 1990.[3]
Originally the plaza had a Supabarn Supermarkets, however in 2016 it became a Coles Supermarkets. The plaza was also sold to new owners in 2016.[4]
