Kallang Bus Interchange is an upcoming air-conditioned bus interchange currently under construction in Kallang, Singapore. Located beside Kallang MRT station, it will form part of the Kallang Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) within the HDB Kallang Horizon mixed-use development. The development comprises 477 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats and a range of community amenities, creating a seamless blend of residential and transport facilities.
History
In August 2022, a “proposed bus interchange” adjacent to Kallang MRT station was featured on a map published on the site of an upcoming Build-To-Order (BTO) project in the Kallang/Whampoa area, which was launched for application in November 2022. The interchange was later confirmed to be part of the Kallang Horizon BTO project by Minister for National Development Desmond Lee in a Facebook post.
The facility is referred to as the “Future Kallang Bus Interchange” in a Land Transport Authority (LTA) travel guide for the nearby Kallang Breeze housing estate.
According to artist’s impressions and site plans released by the authorities, Kallang Bus Interchange will be located between Kallang MRT station and three new HDB residential blocks. The interchange will occupy two storeys, with a roof garden and various community amenities—including a childcare centre and a Residents’ Network Centre—located on the third floor. The development will be connected to Kallang MRT station via a sheltered walkway.
The interchange is expected to replace the nearby Lorong 1 Geylang Bus Terminal upon completion.
