From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Kalle Oskari Mattila is a Finnish writer[1] and critic[2] who lives in the United States.[3]

He has worked as a manager at the publisher Penguin Press[4][5] and taught creative writing at Columbia University.[6] He is also known for his academic work in government innovation.[7][8][9]

Mattila's essay for The New York Times 'Modern Love' column was adapted into audio form by actor Cory Michael Smith who read it at the Provincetown Film Festival.[10][11] The reading later aired on the Modern Love Podcast[12] as well as in The New York Times.[13]

YLE aired a full-length documentary about his writing life in 2004.[14] The documentary, Kallen maailma,[15] was directed by the Finnish politician Silvia Modig.[citation needed] A recent long-form feature in Ylioppilaslehti drew parallels in Mattila's work to that of Lena Dunham.[16]
