The Kalliat were a central aristocratic and landowning Nair tharavad of Jenmii rank n northern Malabar, whose traditional estates were estimated as comprising 36,779 acres of prime agricultural land in northernost Malabar. They were known for their extensive intermarriage with the Koothali and Komath dynastic families as well.
