Kama Vardi (born June 13, 1989) is an Israeli singer-songwriter from Tel Aviv.

History[edit]

Vardi started her musical journey at the age of 17 together with her friends Ella Daniel[1][2] and Sasha Boyesen (now deceased) she traveled to England, where they played as a street-band act on the streets of London.[3] Vardi came back to Israel in 2009, at age 19. She then formed the electric rockabilly band 'the JackBand Blues'[4][5]; Together they produced five albums[6] of their home recordings before splitting up.

Kama Vardi's first solo album ForgetMeNot was released in 2012.[7] Her second solo album, Satchel - Sof Ma'arv, was released on 2016, on Nana Disc[8]. The album was fully crowd funded via headstart, raising 40,000 NIS.[9]

In 2013 Vardi took part in the first season of the Israeli X Factor.[10]

Family[edit]

Kama Vardi is the granddaughter of the Israeli Songwriter Yoram Taharlevl[11] and the poet and writer Nurit Zarchi; and grand-granddaughter of the writer Israel Zarchi (ישראל זרחי).
