The Revivo Project (Hebrew: הפרויקט של רביבו) is an Israeli Mizrahi band, one of the most popular bands in Israel, performing mostly cover versions of songs from the 1970s and 1980s, and winners of the "Band of The Year" award in 2012.
History
The Revivo Project was created in 2012 and is composed of three singers – Raviv Ben Menachem, his brother Nir Ben Menachem, and Eliran Tsur, a close friend of the two brothers. Their repertoire is composed mainly of oriental songs that they heard during their childhood in the 1980s and the 1970s, revisited with today’s style. Their video clips and concerts are made in the form of a social gathering, hosting popular singers from those years like Haim Moshe, Zion Golan, Eli Luzon, and more.[1] The band has released eight albums so far, all of which reached either “Gold” or “Platinum” status. Their music was described as “A rare homage to the forefathers of Mediterranean Pop”.[2]
