Kamal Chawla (born 22 July 1979) is an Indian player of Snooker and an amateur Snooker player. He has won 10 International Medals (9 for India and 1 as an Independent Athlete). He became World silver medalist once and World Bronze Medalist thrice. He has also won Gold Medal at Asian Team Snooker being Indian Team Snooker Captain. Chawla is employed with Indian Railways since 2002.
Snooker career[edit]
International[edit]
- In February 2011 Chawla reached the Semi Final of the First ACBS Asian Six Red Snooker Championship at Chantaburi losing to Yu Delu of China and was Bronze Medalist .[1]
- In April 2011 Chawla reached the Quarter Final of the 27th ACBS Asian Snooker Championship at Indore losing to Senzahi of Afghanistan .[2]
- In December 2011 Chawla reached the Semi Final of the IBSF World Snooker Championship at Bangalore losing to Hossein Vafaei of Iran and was Bronze Medal.[3]
- In July 2013 Chawla with Team mates Brijesh Damani & Aditya Mehta won the Silver Medal and lost to China in Finals of the Team Snooker Event at 4th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games at Incheon, South Korea.[4]
- In May 2014 Chawla reached the Semi Final of the 30th ACBS Asian Snooker Championship at Al Fujairah losing to Chuan Leong Thor of Malaysia settling for Bronze Medal.[5]
- In August 2014 Chawla (Indian Captain) with Team mates Dharminder Lilly and Faisal Khan won the Gold Medal by defeating the Pakistan Team in Finals at Pakistan in the 2nd ACBS Asian Team Snooker Championship.[6]
- In July 2016 Chawla with Team Mate Brijesh Damani reached the Semi Final of the IBSF World Team Snooker Championship at Sharm El Sheikh losing to China Team settling for Bronze Medal.[7]
- In September 2016 Chawla reached the Semi Final losing to Au Chi Wai of Hong Kong in the Six Red Snooker Event of the 1st Asian Billiards Sports Championship at Al Fujairah settling for Bronze Medal.[8]
- In August 2017 Chawla reached the Finals of the IBSF World Six Red Snooker Championship at Hurghada losing to Darren Morgen of Wales settling for Silver Medal.[9]
- In June 2019 Chawla reached the Semi Final of the 8th ACBS Asian Snooker Championship at Doha losing to Babar Masih of Pakistan settling for Bronze Medal.[10]
- In September 2019 Chawla with Team Mate Laxman Rawat reached the Semi Final of the IBSF World Team Snooker Championship at Mandalay losing to Thailand Team settling for Bronze Medal.[11]

He won Bronze in 2009[12] and 2010[13] in Snooker Nationals. In 2010, the First 6-Red Snooker National Championship was organised at Bangalore, where Chawla won Bronze medal.[14] Kamal stood fifth in 2011 Snooker National. He won Silver medal in 2nd 6-Red Snooker National Championship.[15] In 2012, Chawla won Silver Medal in 79th National Snooker Championship held at Pune in February 2012.[16] In March 2014, he won Silver Medal in the 82nd National Snooker Championship held at Lucknow losing to Pankaj Advani.[17] In January 2016, he won his First National Gold Medal Title in the 5th National Six-Red Snooker Championship held at Kolkata. [18]In December 2017 he won Silver Medal in the 7th National Six-Red Snooker Championship held at Chennai losing to Pankaj Advani.[19]
In 2008, he won the Silver Medal at the National 8-Ball Pool Championship held at Kolkata[20] & again Silver medal at National 9-Ball Pool Championship at Kolkata in 2013.[21]
