Kanoon Towhid London or Islamic Students Association in London, is a Islamic religious and cultural centre in Hammersmith, London, England, founded in 1973 by a group of Iranian students.

History

In 1973 a group of Iranian students in London founded a society to discuss about religious and political topics. They were acting against Shah regime in Iran by spreading the messages of Imam Khomeini in the UK and west of Europe. After Islamic revolution in Iran at 1978 it joined to the Islamic Student Association. From the time up to now, the building of Kanoon Towhid in Hammersmith hosted weekly cultural, religious, scientific and political events in English and Farsi. During 1980s Abdolkarim Soroush was the representative of Mohammad Beheshti in Kanoon Towhid London. In 4th november 2006 president Mohammad Khatami delivered a talk in the centre. In December 2012 a suspicious fire incident burned the building . The building reopened in march 2015 followed by a major refurbishment.

There is a historical relation between Ali Shariati and Kanoon Towhid London. When Ali Shariati passed away in 1977, the student members of Kanoon Towhid arranged his funeral in London and helped to send his body to Syria. A high number of intelectuals delivered talk about Ali Shariati in Kanoon Towhid London. The 30th aniversary of Shariati followed by talk by Massoud Behnoud, Enayat Etehad and Majid Tafreshi in 2007. The 40th aniversary of Ali Shariati followed by talks in 2017.
