Karichal is a beautiful small village in Alappuzha district, Kerala.[1] It is about a kilometer north of Harippad in the Upper Kuttanad region. "Jala Chakravarti Karichal chundan" makes Karichal world famous. Karichal chundan is the only chundan vallam (Snake boat) to have won all the boat races attended, including 15 times in Nehru Trophy Boat Race. Karichal is in Veeyapuram village which is under Kuttanad sector and has many paddy fields. The Achankovil river flows through the side of this village.
