Karla K. Dennis, Born on (April 15th 1973), is an American Enrolled Tax Agent, Business Consultant, and Founder of Karla Dennis and Associates, Inc. As an enrolled agent, Karla is licensed to represent taxpayers in all 50 states. She holds a Masters in Taxation and Business Development and is the author of two books, Tax Storm.[1] and Against the Odds.[2]
Early Life and Education[edit]
Karla was born and raised in Compton California USA, a low-income section of southern Los Angeles County with her mother, father, and two siblings. Mrs. Dennis credits her parents for being her greatest influence, instilling the importance of discipline, hard work, and integrity while focusing on educating your way to a better environment.
She graduated Compton High School in 1991 and went on to graduate from California State University Dominguez Hills where she graduated with a Bachelors in Business with a Concentration in Accounting in 1995. After college, she worked as an admin with a tax law firm where she grew interested in tax law. She then pursued and received a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1996.
Professional Life[edit]
After receiving her masters, Karla started a career within corporate America as a tax supervisor. She then moved on to open her very first firm in 1991.
In 1992, Karla joined the La Palma Chamber of Commerce where she became president.[3] During which, Karla took the lead in coordinating several civic events such as the La Palma Beautification Project.
Presently, Karla actively speaks to various business leaders, executive organizations, trade groups, community factions, and civic gatherings and areas of Chamber of Commerce.[1] Karla's tax expertise has been featured on live television networks such as KTLA and CNBC.
From 2010-2014 Karla hosted a radio talk show called, Mind Your Business, hosted on the Patriot AM 1150 Radio.
After moving to La Palma California, Karla Dennis and Associates began in 2014 as a for profit accounting, bookkeeping, and tax planning/preparation service.
Forbes Magazine has recognized her as a national financial and tax professional on her article feature in "Southern California Women Business Leaders" (September 2016).
